Founded just one year apart, the James Barry Robinson Institute and Catholic Charities of Eastern Virginia (CCEVA) have been helping serve families and children in our community for more than 90 years.

The Barry Robinson Center, a member of the James Barry-Robinson Institute, offers a residential treatment program for youth with mental health issues from military-connected families. The residential treatment includes a dual diagnosis program for teens with substance use issues. The Center also offers a treatment foster care program and other community-based services. The campus provides a safe and serene setting for programs designed to help youth and their families overcome emotional and behavioral difficulties.

Catholic Charities of Eastern Virginia provides an array of compassionate, competent and professional services that strengthen and support individuals, families and communities based on the value and dignity of human life. CCEVA provides mental health counseling services on a sliding fee scale including counseling for families and children. CCEVA also provides student assistance counseling in local area Catholic Schools.

Both organizations welcome all youth in need of help and provide services to inspire hope.

On Friday, May 1st, the two organizations are headed back to the course for a friendly competition to help raise awareness and support for children’s mental health. Players are encouraged to play for either team and the winning organization will take home the Catholic Cup!
