Parenting Support Services
CCEVA is here to support you in the important journey of parenthood.
Our Care Centers, located on the Southside and Peninsula, provide free diapers and essential baby supplies to families in need. We offer personalized support for pregnant women and new parents, helping them create safe, thoughtful parenting plans and address the full range of their family’s needs.
Through our programs, families can access resources for housing, budgeting, employment, mental health, and education. To ensure long-term success, our dedicated staff mentors parents for up to a year, helping them set goals and build a strong foundation to raise healthy, happy children.

STRIVE
Strive is a 12-18 month economic stabilization program for women raising children in the Southside Hampton Roads area. Through personalized mentorship, intensive coaching, and strategic goal setting, Strive empowers participants to reach stability.
To support progress, participants receive quarterly incentives as they work to achieve goals. Upon completing the program, graduates have the option to move on to the Aspire program to continue working towards their long-term goals and self-sufficiency.
To be eligible for Strive, applicants must:
- Be a woman with a child under 18
- Be earning some income
- Have stable housing
- Live on the Southside of Hampton Roads
- Be motivated to participate and embrace change
The Strive program is a collaborative funded through Women United in partnership with the United Way of South Hampton Roads.
ASPIRE
Aspire is a three-year economic self-sufficiency program that empowers women raising children to invest in their families’ futures through personalized mentorship and holistic support. Participants, guided by trained mentors, use practical tools to overcome challenges and pursue ambitious, meaningful goals, shifting their lives from surviving to thriving.
Aspire takes a whole person approach addressing key areas such as family life, health, finance, education and career. As participants achieve their goals, they earn rewards including incentives that help ease financial barriers and reinforce progress.
To be eligible for Aspire, applicants must:
- Be a woman with a child under 18
- Be earning some income
- Have stable housing
- Live on the Southside of Hampton Roads
- Be motivated to participate and embrace change

ASCEND
Ascend is a 12-18 month coaching program designed to support women raising children and living on the Peninsula to reach greater economic stability. Participants partner with a trained mentor who provides guidance, accountability and encouragement as they work toward their personal goals.
As participants achieve their goals, they earn rewards including incentives that help ease financial barriers and reinforce progress. Through this program, participants experience increased family stability, stronger support systems, improved financial security, and expanded career opportunities.
To be eligible for Ascend, applicants must:
- Be a woman with a child under 18
- Be earning some income
- Have stable housing
- Live in Hampton, Newport News, Poquoson, Williamsburg, or York County
- Be motivated to participate and embrace change
Support Group for Grandparents as Parents and Kinship Caregivers
We offer a dedicated support group designed specifically to provide resources and to lend a listening ear to family members who are raising their grandchildren or the children of other relatives.
Together, we address the unique issues, questions, needs and obstacles of parenting a relative’s child. Our program specialists offer engaging activities and training for both caregivers and children, creating opportunities for growth, connection, and learning.
Families are invited to share their experiences, access helpful resources, and find a renewed sense of support and focus. Join us as we explore the joys and challenges of raising the children of relatives.
